- THE INTERNATIONAL PATTERN & ITS ANOMALIES -

-27-

Another one from Belgium. Here the pattern is easily recognizable, although not all the attributes are there, nor some other characteristic features. Each of the suits is dedicated to a language: English, French, German and Spanish. Each of the K's, Q's and J's carry their name in those languages. But it is done twice and mirrored too, so these cards can be used in both positions.

The "Desperanto" deck was printed by Carta Mundi, probably in the  1990's. It consists of 52 cards, 2 jokers and an extra card. The Aces show the flags and names of the four countries in their own language.
