- THE INTERNATIONAL PATTERN & ITS ANOMALIES -

-24-

When artists have a go at the pattern, one may expect an unusual outcome. The following deck is at first glance not easily identified as an international pattern.  Probably because of the large, soft, almost fluid shapes in the center design, but also possibly because of the overall, colorful "chaos", not bound by any outline. Yet, at a closer look, you'll find attributes, a suicide king and one eyed Jacks. Besides the usual indicator and suitcolour in the corners, the suitcolour has also been incorporated in each design. Sometimes in a surprising way: see the diamonds.

The deck was printed by Carta Mundi and published by Kodonska in 1977. The deck was designed by the Japanese artist Taro Okamoto. It consists of 52 cards and 2 jokers.
