Fashionable Decks with a Fragrance
-7-
Besides the nonstandard decks that were shown, a few decks were issued that could not really be called standard either. They are based on existing patterns, but have been embellished in ways, that make them special too. Here are some examples........
An embellished & colourful
international pattern set against a gold background was printed by
Grimaud for Cartier in the late 1990's.
The deck consists of 52 cards, 2 (similar) jokers and a bridge score card.

The Ace of Spades is special designed and has the maker's name, consistent with the use of the international pattern.
Although the deck for Yves Saint Laurent was made by Grimaud too, here the Ace of Clubs bears the maker's name, although the courts have the international pattern.

Unusual colouring of the courts, set against a black background, in this deck from the Yves Saint Laurent Collection, published in 1984.
The deck consists of 52 cards, 2 jokers and a bridge score card. Issued as a doublebox.
