The eBay stuff is done and I've done a regional tour on my bike to keep the cardiologist happy, so time to get this job here done too…. the daily lockdown deck.
Today it's the Sikar deck by the Speelkaartenfabriek Nederland from Amsterdam. It was published in 1935 by Sitters & v.d. Kar, a lease company for household equipment. The backs show some examples: a vacuumcleaner for 35 cents a week, a stove for 75 cents or a Philips radio for 1 guilder a week. And you could even lease a bike there for 60 cents a week.
The designs are done in Art Deco style, but the name of the artist was never found.
