German deck in fine chromolithography. For today's lockdown deck I've chosen the
"Kaiser Karte" (or Whist Nr 290), printed and published by the
Altenburger Spielkarten Fabrik around 1910. This is the second edition, with
tiny indices. The first edition by Schneider & Co from Altenburg dates from
around 1895 and didn't have indices. I noticed that Miriam had noted that we
bought the deck in August 2012 and wondered why it hadn't made it to Deck of the
Month then. I checked, but even 4 emperors don't stand a chance when they are up
against Hustling Joe.
