For
today's lockdown deck I've chosen a deck that has been produced by different
Belgian and German manufacturers. I have 3 (Belgian) versions, with slight
differences, but Paul Symons has at least 5 or 6 of them. A couple of years ago
we wanted to do some research on this special pattern together, but in the end
we both had other priorities at that time.
This deck here is attributed to Brepols & Dierckx from Turnhout, Belgium. It
was lithographically printed around 1880 and is known as "Het Nederlandse
Spel" (The Dutch Deck).
