Now
that the update of the DXPO site has been done, I'm organizing the decks for the
renovation of the "War On Cards" xpo on that site. So no surprise that
today's lockdown deck is again a WW I deck. Again by F. A. Lattmann from Goslar,
Germany, but completely different than the WW I deck by Lattmann that I showed
here a couple of days ago.
This
deck has French suits and ranking, the courts are done in simple line drawings
and give the deck a modern look, printed in offset. The designs were done by
Ferdinand Herwig and the 36 cards deck was published as "Vaterländische
Spielkarte" (Patriotic Playing Cards) in 1915. No research for this was
necessary, all the basic info is on the 7 of diamonds.
