After
the first Dondorf standard pattern had become such a success that it was copied
by many other manyfacturers and became generally known as the Rhineland pattern,
40 years later the company wanted to expand their range with a new deck in a
more simple finish, a cheaper for the common players. Printed in
chromolithography, but with only 5 colours used.
Today's lockdown deck is described by Braun as New Standard Pattern. Our version
has factory number 265 and consists of 36 cards. It was published between 1913
and 1917. And although the pattern was published again between 1926 and 1929, it
has never been as successful as their Rhineland pattern.
