An early post today in the lockdown series. An antique Bongout deck by Van Genechten from Turnhout, Belgium. It's from the early 1870's and was published (or made to use) as an Hombre deck. So the pips range van 2 - 7. The courts show a sort of luxury pattern, printed in lithography and stencil coloured. It is double imaged, but some colours were reversed. And…. there's a great set of aces with German scenes. Great? Well, not often seen anyway, but... I have a soft spot for scenic aces, so easily get enthousiastic about them.
