Today I received the latest Kartofilen, the journal of the Swedish Playing Card Society and it was the inspiration for today's lockdown deck: a Finnish deck made for Sweden by Abo Stentryckeri AB around 1950. Athough I think that Stentryckeri means "stone printing shop", the deck is printed in offset. There's a Swedish tax stamp for imported decks on the AH, which was in use from the 1930's to the 1950's. The deck was designed by the Swedish artist Nils E. Hansson and the courts show Swedish royalty. The cards have a convex shape, which is not unusual for Finnish decks.
