April 17

Friday afternoon usually means after work drinks together. A bit difficult at the moment, but I'll do my share and raise a glass of good old Bud in the lockdown series.
A first deck was published by the Anheuser-Busch company in 1898, but this second "Spanish American War" deck (printed by the USPCC) was published at the end of the war in 1900. Kings and Jacks show officers in the American army, two on each card. The aces show the different Anheuser-Busch brands. Just like in the first edition each card has a light brown picture of the Anheuser-Buh plant in St. Louis, but in this edition all 4's have a picture of a (different) American warship.

COMMENT:
Matt Schacht: This deck also came in red, green and blue backs with a matching color slip-cover box.
