During one of our vacantions in the early 1990's we have visited Guernica. It was still a quiet small town. The centre, that was heavily destructed, has been rebuild in the old style. Each year, during the summer months, the local museum organises an exhibition of the pre-studies that were made by Picasso for this work. Also they show pictures that were taken right after the bombardment and it became clear that Picasso was obviously inspired by some of those.
