GAMES & QUARTETS
G-2
PADVINDERSSPEL
(Scouts game)
Published since ca. 1913. Printed in litho, later offset. There
are 50 cards and they measure 45 x 69 mm and 42 x 63 mm.
Published by S.N., later
also SIO (Sioliet).
There are 5 series of 10 cards, patroles. The series are Lions, Wolves, Bulls, Owls, and Ruffs, each printed in a different colour, and they contain 1 leader (with flag) and 9 scouts.
The lion patrol was done in orange. Perhaps because our royal family is called Van Oranje (Orange) and their emblem shows two lions.
This is the oldest version. The deck is in the old Dutch language (pre 1936). The word "patroulle" was misspelled and was changed to the correct "patrouille" in a later edition.
Later editions were sold in a transparant plastic box. The game was sold until the factory had to close down.
Correction of the misspelled word for patrol. |
The back design has never been changed. |
The older decks come in carton boxes, after ca. 1960 the game comes in a plastic box. Obviously there has been a small change in names too. The box is from an edition from ca. 1940, but the rules book (enlarged in the scan here below) is from a much earlier edition. Note the extra (plural) "s" in the name of the game.
