GAMES & QUARTETS
G-1a
DERBY
This game was first published by SN in 1913. The cards (2 x
48) are printed in chromolithography. They measure 60 x 89 mm.
The game is
played with two decks. Each deck has 48 cards. The even numbered cards have
black numbers and brown horses. The odd numbered cards have red numbers and
white horses. All costumes of the jockeys are different in a deck. Both decks
are identical.

rules and the content of the box.
Here below: both backs of the G-1 Derby decks. The red one was also used in our G-1a Derby Race Game, but it's possible that decks with blue backs have been used for this game too. In the rules for the G-1a game there's no reference to the colour of the backs. In the rules for the G-1 Derby game specific functions are attributed to the red and the blue deck.
