April 20
Guess who has made a reservation
for an extensive lunch with a friend, at Rust Wat in Blaricum (Netherlands) on
April 28? So it looks like this second Lockdown Series is coming to an end in
another week or so.
For now the daily job continues and today a rather classic design by Melchior
Annen. The deck was printed in fine chromolithography and published as Whist No
36 by J. Müller & Cie from Schafhouse, Switzerland, in the 1920's. The
pattern is called Rococo and for those who don't know when that period was the
box mentions "18ieme Siècle" (18th century). Miriam's file card
mentions that we bought a double deck on eBay in May 1999 and because we sold
the second deck this one has only cost us 7,23 euro. And for that price the
shiny gold corners were included.
