When you find an advertising deck for an Austrian company one would expect Piatnik as the manufacturer. However, today's deck was printed by the VASS (Vereinigte Altenburger und Stralsunder Spielkartenfabriken) and published in 1957 for the F.M. Hämmerle company, which traded in textiles and fabrics, from the town of Dornbirn, Austria. So it's no surprise that all kind of different fabrics are found on the courts, aces and (similar) jokers. Different figures on both sides on the courts, designed in an amusing 50's style.
