Yesterday's dinner at friends (yes, home by 9 PM!!) concluded a busy week, so a lazy weekend now and enough time to make a choice for this post today. And the chosen one has a pattern that is known as "Cartes Parisiennes". The earliest version of this pattern by Van Genechten didn't have indices and dates from around 1900. The use of 4 indices in our deck would date it in the 1920's, although imo by then the pattern must have been regarded as a bit old-fashioned. The deck is printed on rather solid stock and is complete with 52 cards. No joker was issued with the deck. It came in a wrapper.
