Today the "Historic Playing Cards", printed in chromolithography by Chas Goodall & Son and published as a luxury edition (solid gold edges) since 1893. In their advertisements for this deck Goodall describes the courts as "representing the royal costumes of four reigns in English history". In chronological order: Plantagenet (clubs), Tudor (diamonds), Stuart (hearts) and Hanoverian (spades). No joker was ever issued with this deck, even not with the later published patience version.
