# 12

Design for a bunker, French, 18th century.

Drawn on this playing card is a design for a kind of bunker with two rooms. This fortification was apparently intended for permanent habitation because the drawing also shows a chimney. The upper sketch shows the plan view. The wall across from the entrance is equipped with an embrasure. Whether this kind of bunker was ever actually build, however, is unknown.
