Just like many other artists have done in their decks, Leonor Décourt has designed her own suitcolours. We have only one of her artprints as a comparison, but I think that maybe here we find a connection with a basic theme in her printing work: a returning -almost scismatic- division within each shape or contoura. Here each division is done slightly different and forms the basis of a subtle chance of shades.
The small suitsigns are carefully placed in the design. Even placing ten of them doesn't disrupt the complete design and still manages to  emphasize the divisionary line, although not as strong as the lesser numbers.

This Ace of Spades carries Leonor's signature, but that was done by her at our special request. You won't find it in other decks.

There are 2 jokers with the deck. One is the regular joker and the other one is a bit odd: the card is mainly used to advertise the COPAG website and the small print mentions in Portugese that this card may be used as extra joker. A superfluous announcement, as the word joker is already printed in two corners!

The backdesign shows a pattern of suitcolours.

NOTE

Copag made a second edition in 2006. The only difference with the first edition is the design of the extra card.

Still, we are very pleased with this new deck. It's good to see that a large company like COPAG has appreciated the artwork of this Brazilian artist enough to publish the deck.
We think that the title EPOC is well chosen. Although it would have to be "epoca" in Portugese, in English "epoc" stands for era and this deck is a good attempt to create a renewed anglo-american pattern for a new era.........the 21st century.

The courts are on the previous page.

A double deck can be ordered at COPAG and, of course, here at DXPO.
