Elephants must have made a big impression on the artist. They
form the solid base of each circus and can be found here on each of the Aces. The Ace of
Hearts is also embossed on one of the sides of the accompaning gold coin (see
below).
And without doubt monkeys make the best jokers! Unlike the clowns, they
can "monkey about" any time of the day.
Monkeys, lions, bears, mice and all human participants in any good
